First Clue

You read the book, did you pay close attention to the details? Here’s how the contest works. My novel contains allusions – homages, one might even say – to two famous American women. Both are artists, in the larger sense of the word. If you think you know who they are, send me your entry by using the “contact me” feature on this website. If you get them right you’ll be added to the draw performed by my wife Marcia. She will pick the winners of the Amy Ray paintings.

Now to the clue!

This is a sonic clue, so pay particular attention to the way the words sound when you say them aloud: Some like one of these artists but not the other. Some have heard one artist but not read the other. But when it comes to my own reverence road, I land in the state of fandom for both.
