EASTPORT ARTIST Revealed
Have you been looking for the Easter Eggs hidden in my book?
Read or reread “Just East of Nowhere” with an alert eye, you might win an eye-catching painting by Amy Ray, an Eastport Artist.
Here’s how the contest works. My novel contains allusions – homages, one might even say – to two famous American women. Both are artists, in the larger sense of the word. If you think you know who they are, send me your entry by using the “contact me” feature on this website.
Over the next few months, I plan to offer several clues, starting on November 8th at UMass Club in Boston, to help people narrow things down. You can revise your guess if you want in light of those clues. The last clue will come during the holiday season. Then, sometime in the early part of next year, I will take the names of the people who have correctly identified the two women I have in mind, put those names in a large bowl, and have my wife, Marcia Crumley, who is also an artist, pull one out! (See Marcia’s work here: https://www.marciacrumleyart.com/)
And presto, one lucky winner will be able to select from an array of paintings by the Eastport artist. (Approximate value of the prize: $500.)
So: Check back now and again for clues and more information on the artist whose work you might win.
Note: You don’t have to buy “Just East of Nowhere” to enter the contest. Just ask your local library to carry it.
